Jason Miller and I attended the Car Show at Old Town (Kissimmee, FL) where My Classic Car was to film one of their 2005 shows. Jason and I had the opportunity to meet Dennis Gage, take pictures with him, and talk about Mavericks for a few minutes. Dennis Gage's personality as seen on TV is what you get in real life. Great car guy. I was shocked when he approached me and asked to do an on-camera interview. Of course, I accepted the offer. He told me that it should be on TV sometime during February or March, 2005 on Speed Channel (if the interview doesn't end up on the cutting room floor). Wish Me Luck! Here are some pictures of Jason's green Maverick, and my yellow Maverick with Dennis Gage.
2 very sharp cars...try to give us an update as to when it may broadcast...I have the Speed channel on Speed Surf on the remote
remind us before it happens. that's pretty neat. us old guys will forget by tomorrow if you don't remind us.
Congrats! Yellow and Black, your talkin my colors! On a side note. I heard from someone else that Dennis was a A** Maybe it is a different story if he wants to do a piece on someones car. Maybe he really is nice? Looks great! And remind us.
Dennis is from just across the river from me in Indiana. I used to see him all the time at the drag strip, and at local car shows. Any time I've ever been around him, he was just like you see on the show. Now mind you, I didn't hang out with him at his house or anything, but I saw him and was around him alot. Granted, this was mostly before his tv show and all, but I have seen him a couple of times since then, and he acted the same to me. I always took him as a super-intense car freak! And I mean that in the nicest possible way.. He doesn't care what make or model it is, he likes most of them. He can find something good to say or like about any type of car out there. Any time I was around him, he was always a "glass half-full" kind of guy. Those folks are getting harder to find everyday, and I'm ecstatic that we have one representing our point of view. I hope his show is on the air for years to come...and I hope I'm around to watch it! Later Guys,
