I bought a Grabber hood more than 15 years ago, for $25, I remember how much it was because it was written in white shoe polish and had soaked into the paint. I want to put it on my 73, so my firend is a body man, and he took it to clean it up and fix the rust, so after a few days of working on it, he send me some pic's Still needs some work, but I think it looks great!!!
Reason you got it so cheap is because it has two big holes in the top Be sure to have your body man fix those things...
Looking good Dave. What'd he use to clean all the little nooks and crannies between the frame and the skin? I've got one I need to get cleaned up...someday. Paid $40 for mine about 12 years ago. Came with a grille with sport lamps, blacked-out headlight bezels, small front bumper and brackets, a fan and a pair of taillights. Still not sure if I came out ahead on that one LOL.
He used 3M Roloc disc's and cleaned the whole thing to bare metal, he's been at it around 3 days on and off, lots of work. The front lip had some rust, so all that was cut out and replaced, then everything gets a good coat of PPG epoxy primer.
The inside was the worst part, so he did it first, the outside had 5 coats of paint so he's working on that this week.
Have a new picture of the progress, it's sitting next to another major project thats almost done, they'll both be better than new when done.
OOOO I see a mopar sign in the backround!!! haha, what kind of car is that on the rotiserrie(i know i spelled that wrong)
