IMG_20140707_172756.jpg Well after being a member for awhile now and having my car for 11 years I guess it's time to make a build thread...

I started with a a 1973 ldo maverick. Picked it up from an a old man I met at a car sale when I was 15. I waited outside by the car the whole auction till the owner came out. Asked if it was for sale he said yes and stayed firm at $550. I had the money and followed him home and drove the car about 50 miles back home. It had a great running 250 in it. So probably a week later I pulled it to find out the car was a factory v8 car that had been swapped to the 6... Who knows why.. So I dropped a factory 73 302 out of a wrecked grabber I had in it.. Much slower than the 250 hahaha.
So over the next few years I mildly build the motor, swapped the wheels, added a grabber hood and spoiler and then blew the engine.. Rebuilt it with some goodies and it's pretty much been unfinished and sittin around alot over the past few years. Well its time to finish it so I can drive this bad boy again. I'll be adding some photos and specs soon..

So I got the motor out. Which is a .60 over 302, arp rod bolts, flat top pistons, balanced rotating assembly, 53cc 289 heads, giant valves ported polished springs rod guides 7/16 screw in studs with 1.6 roller rockers, comp magnum chromoly push rods, comp 292 cam, original torker 289 intake, 750 double pumper.... Very strong little motor.. Gonna clean up and paint the engine bay and do the same to the motor and install brass freeze plugs.
Gonna have the stall redone to stall 3500 to 4000 so it will launch and knock out some great 60 ft times. Has a mini spool and 380 gears out back.
