Ok, so, I was wanting to put 64/65 combo t-bird tails on my mav, but, with a big bumper, I was afraid there would be NOWHERE to put the reverse lights I would certainly need. But, then I came across these universal lights that would look great mounted inside the bumper guards on the rear bumper.
    Thoughts?

Seems like it won't be bright enough.

with a couple of super-bright LED or halogen bulbs in there, it will.

i think that the backup lights are more to let people know you are going backwards than for you to see where you are going . just think about it, if you touch the brake you have (5) times the light that most backup lights put out.jmo...frank...

71gold, that's what I'm getting at, I just need a reverse "indicator" lamp really.

If you just want folks to know you are backing, just use a 'beeper'.
It would be alot more visually appealing than those.
Also, I do not know that folks behind you would equate a pair of license plate lights as 'reverse' lights when tacked to a bumper gaurd.
