Hello everyone. Here are a few pics of my wife's new car that we picked up over the weekend. This was a lucky and spontaneous CL find. The Maverick bug started a few years ago when she needed transportation but didn't have enough money to get a newer car. Long story short, we found a 75 4 door with the 6cyl and three on the tree. My wife(girlfriend at the time) loved the looks of it and decided she wanted it. After we got it the plan was to find a auto trans and swap out the 3 speed, since she wasn't too keen on shifting situation, not the most intuitive set up. We checked CL and found a tranny that would work. Little did we know that the poster of the ad was none other than Maverick guru Yellow75. Long story short, we got a tranny but also ended up with another car. A 72 2door 6cyl auto. Mike also included some goodies too. My wife loved that car, even though it was not in the best driving condition. Due to her living situation at the time she had to get rid of both cars, a decision that we wished we didn't have to make. Since then she's kept saying "One of these days I'm gonna get me another Maverick!" Well, it happened last week. A gold 72 with 69,000 original miles. And let me tell you, by the looks of things I believe they are original miles. Other than front bench seat wear the interior is pristine. No cracks in the dashpad, headliner is all there, door panels are in perfect shape, black carpet that looks like new. Here are some quick pics, including the original ownercard and window sticker. Let me know what you think.

Hurry up and register for the first maverick/comet meet of the year before its too late! we're already looking at aproximately 15 mavs/comets! :thumbs2:

We will be meeting at Denny’s at 10:30 http://seattle.citysearch.com/profile/10814964/everett_wa/denny_s.html#profileTab-maps

After we eat we all head up to Colby and cruise up and down. After a little cruzin time we typically park in a row along the street. The next day is the show n’ shine if you want to register for that too. For the cruise bring your mav or comet! It doesn’t have to be finished or restored! It could be all original, in progress, whatever stage your in Bring it if you can! The more we get together the better! If your mav/comet is not running we’d still be glad to have you anyways! It’ll be great time!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm glad to be part of this small but devoted community. Just finished doing a small tune up on Goldie(hey I think I found a name for her!) and man does she run like a champ now. Started on the first key. I'm always amazed what new points(i know, points, but Pertronix coming in the near future), condenser, cap, rotor, wires and plugs can do for an engine! I also found two loose screws between the two halves of the carb. I think that's what was causing the stuttering and stalling at red lights. Easy fix! I know that there are a lot of V8 fans out there, but let me tell you, a straight six makes for a really nice exhaust tone plus just enough get-up-and-go. I can't complain.:thumbs2:
