I live in georgia. My 19 year old son was driving our 72 grabber and slammed on brakes dodging a deer,. The car veered off road and went into a ditch and a big rock took out the steering and bent the frame, front crossmeber and other parts. I bought a donor car and cut out all my bent parts on my car so i thought and had the other parts welded in my car. changed all the tire rod ends, center link and took car in to have the shock tower pulled back straight and the body shop said that the weight of the motor had twisted the frame just above where the lower control arm bushing attached and they could not get the tires to line up. All the major damage was done underneath to the frame, tire rod ends, center llink, Radiator, crank pulley and back of fenders. Hood suffered no damage and fender minor damage where they got pushed back to the door at the bottom.
hi robert, welcome to the board... sad story ... what part of ga. are you from? do you have any pics....frank...
70-72 Mav needed I live in Butler GA. I"m 90 miles south of Atlanta and 50 miles east of Columbus and 40 miles west of Macon. I just went and picked my car up from the shop and drove it back to my house. I believe the spindle on the passenger side may be bent as well. The wheel on the passenger side is way out on the bottom and their is no more camber adjustment. PS how do you attach pictures to the post. I have some pictures
I have just acquired, thru a death in the family a 70 Maverick in classic condition. It has low mileage, new tires and all else is original. It runs, but needs new fuel gauge and work on the carburator. Have no idea what it is worth. Can anybody help??
