I need a pic of the lower quarter panel, taken from below and slightly in front, showing the area between the wheelwell and the rear valance/bumper, where the quarter panel meets the trunk drop. I need to know how the metal is supposed to look. I need to see what I need to do to my replacement quarter skins before I weld them. My 77 is not a very good example, as too much of that metal is rotted away. :slap:

    Thanks guys.

Eddie - in your first pic, is that line the pinch weld?

Craig, a little to the left would be perfect. (straight from the back) That is a helpful pic of the inside part though. (Seeing as how I have to rebuild that part too :slap: )

As much as I don't care how factory correct mine looks, I'd like it to at least look halfway close. :D

How far do the aftermarket quarters go? Do they curve around the bottom? or is that why your asking?

Dennis, is that a factory quarter or an aftermarket quarter? The pinch weld area looks more like my aftermarket quarter than a factory quarter.

Dave, they do go around the bottom, but the shape is nothing like a factory quarter under there. I'm not real concerned about the shape, I just couldn't figure out how it was all supposed to come together at the bottom edge of the outer wheelhouse, since mine was all rotten and I had to cut it all out, and my 77 is of no help there.. Here's a few shots that show the difference:

I decided to try my hand at metal shaping... Here is my replacement lower wheelhouse. It turned out better than I thought it would, guess I don't have to order a Mustang part after all.

That is a factory quarter. I had to make my own trunk drops, lower inner wheel well, and a few other small patch panels in that corner.
