Never seen a 91 Mustang Swapped into a Maverick. With fabrication you might be able to make it work.
If you use a Maverick tank you will need to run an external EFI capable fuel pump and fabricate a return line into the tank.

You might be able too do it with the mustang tank but I doubt it... But then again I dont know all your fabrication skills. Or your funds...

I will start out with the easy part remember the filler on the mustang is on the side of the car so you would have to relocate the filler, the mustang the tank is very long and it is made to fit in the body as you can see in the pic

Now the easy part would be getting it to fit in the body, you would just have to cut the trunk floor out of the mustang and weld it in place of the maverick floor pan, then install the filler in the quarter panel.
Once that is done then you run into the last and biggest problem... If you look under the back of your car and see how the rear axle is held onto the car you will see a pair of leaf springs. Well the fox body mustangs had a 4 link suspension and coil springs so the gas tank goes right in the same area that your rear suspension would have to go...

There are several members here that have installed conversion drop in 66-68 or so mustang fuel tanks that have the baffles installed in them already, the fabrication on that isnt too bad, I wince more at the price of the stainless tanks they are using. But its probably the best way too do it.

Just buy a "new" 76 tank, do what you need to it, or take it to someone that can, and bolt it in, way less work than trying to make something else fit. Have a look at what Frank (71gold) did to his, it's one of the best ideas yet.
