i ordered the hedman headers #88-400 last week from summit. i got the box today and opened it to find the 88-300 long tube headers!

how well do these fit? i don't want to have to mangle them to make them fit.

    thanks to anyone who helps.

they dont fit too bad at all. You will have to raise the engine to install the driver's side, but you can just unbolt that side mount and jack it up an inch or so. Also, if you have power steering, you will need a steering cylinder drop bracket for the cylinder to clear the header. Other than that, they work real well, and sound great. I've had 3 sets of them, 2 on the race car, and one on the street car. They do hang a bit low if your car is lowered in the front/rear, but it's not that big of a deal if you take it easy over the speedbumps.

Any of the Mustang restoration and parts houses have them. They are about $100 or so.

The power steering drop bracket is less than 20 dollars through jegs. Are you talking about something else?

Matt; yes, I was. I made an error. I was thinking about the power steering elimination piece, for converting to manual steering. Got off on a tangent somewhere, can't even say where. Sorry for the confusion.
