Need help with a cam please!

    Can any one please give me some advice? I have a 79 f100 with a 351w stock heads edelbrock intake with a 650cfm holly, headers and a posi with a 3:50gear i have been looking for a performance cam but i don't know what will be good. I want the sound and the extra power. I will really appreciate the help.

    I'd go one step(or even two) down from Larry's recommendation due to the weight of a truck with only moderate gearing and likely having a stock stall convertor.

    You SHOULD be wanting low-midrange torque without much care for a near 6,000 rpm redline because that small volume manifold is all done by a little past 5,000 rpm anyways. The motor will feel bigger and more responsive to the pedal without having to rev it to get all that weight moving. Better mileage too.

    Yeah,Groberts is prob. right,bigger is not always better because those hds are killing you.
