Hey y'all! I need some help from the Carb. gurus around here.... I called Edelbrock Tech. Support about my carb problems. After giving him my engine specs. and explaining the problem, he told me that I needed to change to a pink step-up spring. Here's where the fun begins....I don't know what a step-up spring is, does or looks like. Second problem, no one in my area works on carbs. I'm willing to try this myself if I can get someone to tell me the steps to take. The tech guy told me to drive it after changing the spring and if it still needed something, to change to a 1455 rod....again, I don't know what it is, or how to do it, but I'll try it....Does anyone mind giving me "dummy directions" on this? I seem to be the only person in this area who has a carbed vehicle and no one works on carbs so I am gonna need to learn to work on it myself if I intend to keep it running. Anyway, thanks for reading, and if you can help me, I sure would appreciate it! Thanks! Y'all take care! Preston

It has been years since I messed with one of these carbs.

Take a look at this article, the illustrations show the metering rods and step up spring.

You might also consider getting the SA Design reference book

Your going to need to get either a Edelbrock calibration kit or purchase the spring and rods.
