You would think that it would be a red or yellow cable, but mine is a white one. I don't know if the previous owner added that one on but it's the only power cable I have in mine. Try using a volt tester on all the wires that are in your dash that aren't connected.

if you look at the pic i posted i used a white colored one also!

there is a yellow wire that is constant 12volts, i used that one for the radio's memory wire.

    Hello all,

I'm a beginner and I'm having the very same problem. Thanks to maverick75's photo, I've hooked up my switched power to a corresponding wire in my car, where my stock AM was plugged in; however, I'm not getting any power at the new radio. I'm also curious as to what the other plug-in on the connector in the picture is for: I've got my ground hooked up to that.

    Thanks,
    Liam.

Try hookin ur grnd to one of the screws under the metal part of the dash. U shud buy u a voltmeter at one of the home centers; they are inexpensive and most valueable when it comes to this kind of work.
If ur going to stay in this hobby - NOW IS THE TIME TO LEARN HOW TO USE ONE - U'LL BE GLAD U DID.
WHERE U LIVE IN CHICAGO? I LIVE FAR SOUTH END.
    WHY NOT POST SOME PIX?

Well, it turns out that the stock mono speaker has a hookup nearly identical to the power hookup: I was attempting to get power from the speaker. The hookup I did need, however, was hidden higher up, out of my view. Stupid mistake on my part, but thanks for the advice. A voltmeter would definitely have been useful. The irony is that I'm going to university this fall for electrical engineering.

Good to see this thread. I just twisted the two wires for power together on the switched wire I found. It works, but it's annoying to have to turn it on and always lose my presets. looks like I'll be undoing that jerry-rig soon.
