The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Most cages ive seen have them going through the rear speaker holes. But since yours are straight you cant do that. Have you seen Mashori`s cage thread? Theres alot of pics in there.

Here is a picture of mine. Although the car has tubs, it does have straight bars going into the trunk and to the floor. Of course this was done to meet B/SM class back in the late 70's and early 80's. The chassis was NHRA cert'd about 4/5 years ago for over 9.99, although I have gone one 9.80 this past season.

Here is a picture of the trunk.
I don't see why you can't go through the rear bulkhead as long as you have something solid to attach them to in the trunk area.

Main hoop should go right inline with the B pillar.

    Mashori,

The carpet was put in over 30 years ago................and in the front it is starting to show its age...............in the back is looks pretty good, but I can't take credit for it.
Basically, the car...........with the exception of the motor and trans.........
is the way it was back in 1979 when it raced in B/SM.
Although it it nice and quite inside the office, the smell of racing gas pretty much fills the air when you shut the door. I am thinking about tearing it out (saving the patterns) and racing next season without it.
