The car went a 6.14 today on DOT tires. Best time ever and you can still see it spin in the video footage. The car was in street trim, tag, insurance, inspection sticker, DOT tires all around......made for a good day at the track!!!! The 5's are just around the corner!!!!!
Sweet! I must be out of touch. Are you running a DOT tire class these days? What tires are you running?
Yes, i'm running (trying to run) in a class called "True Street", here's the link to the rules http://headsupsuperseries.com/gpage.html7.html . This class requires the car to be "street legal". Not bad for a 10.5:1, pump gas motor.
Good job Stephen, quite an accomplishment for a street car. to say the least. I can hear the footsteps
I'm currently running a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street tires, they read 28 x 12.5 on the sidewall but they actually measure 28" tall and 10" wide on the tread. The set i'm running I got for free from a friend, they are used up but I just don't have the money right now for a new set. $400 for a new set.....
Man, if that is your best on and off the gas and spray. You should do really great when you can stay on it all the way!
Good Grief! A (soon to be) 5 second streeter? I'd say you're in a pretty elite class. Do you have a link for your block/crank/pistons/Heads/CR/cam/tranny/gears/nitrous kit/etc., etc., setup? I'd love to know EVERYTHING about that setup and what you've done to get those kinds of numbers. Whatever combo it is,it's working. I'm ever so humbled.
Rick, Stock block w/ main studs and girdle, forged steel 4340-nitrided crank, forged steel 4340 "lightweight" rods, forged pistons (347 rotating assembly is from Probe Industries) 10.5:1 CR, Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads w/ ALOT of CNC portwork and Ferrea Valves, Titanium retainers etc. Gold Race rockers with rocker stud girdles. Victor Jr. intake ported by me, 825 cfm. Race Demon, .644" lift "Herbert" solid roller, 8" ATI treemaster converter, C4 "full roller"(not a partial roller)assembled by me, 9" w/ 4.00 gears assembled by me........the nitrous kit is a NOS "Big Shot" kit that has been wet flow tested and calibrated on a flow bench, running a "pro fogger" nitrous solenoid. The plate stays jetted at 250 hp. Just installed an Edelbrock digital nitrous controller also.
Stephen, Now you are back to complaining about wheelspin after you smacked the rear bumper on the ground! You drag race guys are never happy! Congrats! Seth
