Well I have gotten spoiled driving a maverick with disk brakes. So now i wanna convert the 75 green / yellow what ever color it is to disk brakes.

so i am starting to collect parts for the conversion. the spindels are off a granada and i decided to power coated the spindels and the caliper brackets too. but what i do need is one more of these.....

anyone got one? i'll pay, i got no time to go to the junk yard!

i also wanna to let you guys know that these rotors were the ones that the guys is selling on e-bay. i posted this before but he told me if some people here wanted to do a group buy he would cut the cost i think it was $20 bucks or so. i thought i pass along the news.

What shape are the actuall drums on the car in? Just the drums. We got all new brakes, but my dad thought the drums would be ok... they aren't... I took my mom for a ride, and when I hit the brakes, I swear she thought the whole car was gonna fall apart.

If the car didn't make horrible noises and shake when you stop, I would be intrested. Just need some to last for about 6 months. New ones are outrageous! I can't justify buying new ones for the short amount of time they will be on there...

I'll bet shipping would be cheaper then buying new ones...

so you got brake judder huh?

i'm so use to drums on a car, but man, they are just dangerous! they lock up, make you steer and stop and in the rain when you hit a puddle you might as well forget it! i can't belive i still alive! :D

i'm putting these disk on so my wife can drive the car safely.

but anyways the drums are fine.. in fact i already have one set just sitting on the floor in my garage from my blue car... like new if anything... i'll have 2 more sets after i change this car and the white one too. so i guess you asking me if i want to sell them huh? PM me i gotta think about this one. shipping might not be cheap.

I put the exact same setup on mine. Have not got to put any real miles on the rotors yet but they looked to be good quality. Sorry don't have any extra pieces you need. Did you powder coat the spindles yourself or did you have someone do it. My spindles have already been painted but I am just considering getting the stuff I need to power coat in the future. How much trouble is it?

It is very possible that the flange is available through FORD. Go down to your local dealer and they can look it up on their computer and see if they are available under a newer part number. Many times FORD used the same part, but used a newer part number for a newer model. I have located a number of parts that way that are not stocked at NAPA or other parts houses. Worth a shot.

Derrick...what's that flange do?...is it part of the dust shield ? I just got finished with one side of mine but don't have any dust shields yet. I got my rotors from rotorpros too.
I used hammer-rite paint on my spindles.

hum.. if i'm in the area that might be something i might consider doing for you.. thing is i'm not in that area often

well thanks for even thinking of me... as far as the power coat i had them done. they were about 65 bucks for both sides! i also power coated the stock wheels to.. they were 35 each... well worth the price.. keeps the rust off ;)

i might just do that.. thanks.. now all i have to do is find a dang parts place thats open by the time i get off of work! :p
yep part of the dust shield.. i can see how it would prevent dust in the bearings... you can buy aftermarket dust shields but no luck on the flanges.

Rick, I do believe that its main purpose is to direct water away from the bearing. Rain and puddle water flying off the spinning rotor could wash out the grease on the bearing if it was able to get inside there. Works as a shield for the road spray.
