I have finally taken the step to open a chat room just for us. Right now i have bought the package that allows 40 people to be there at once. This is a free chat, and you dont have to download anything to use it if you dont want to. If you download the browser used specifically for this chat you will have a few benefits from it like your own personal avatars. The chat rooms will have background pictures of anything of our/my choice(I have to upload them of course), this is where i need your help!! I need pictures that you would like to donate to me of your cars and pictures taken at car shows ( I have seen a few pics on here in the past of mavs lined up in a row that would be a great background)ETC.... I want this to be a place we can go bs together and get to know more about our fellow mav/comet lovers. The chat is up and running right now i just need to put in a few pics and i can have it ready for you as soon as Sun morning or afternoon. If any of you have a few pictures you would like to donate you can email them to me at jcrowl1@columbus.rr.com I hope to join forces with Stefan to give ourselves more choices of things to do. Personally, Im not a big chat fan and have not used any IM clients like AIM, ICQ, IRC, etc in years. One of the reasons why I have not installed a chat room on this site is that none of the conversations are saved. Once the chat session is over, no one knows what went on unless they were there. Furthermore, people live in different time zones, work different hours, etc so they cant all be on at the same time.
I totally agree with that stefan, but on the other hand these chats can be saved and the server is up 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Palace Chat was originally designed for companies to have meetings with people all over the world, Communities.com went bankrupt a few years ago and alot of the palace owners bought the software. Alot of clubs use it to this day to have meetings with there state reps usually on weekends
this is not a knock at you Grabber75, but we have a good chatroom over at fordmaverick.com. Matt has been through alot to keep this web site and the chatroom up and I support Matt the same way I support Stephan. We have quite a few chatters over there, I would invite you and others to stop by and say high and maybe build up a good chatroom already running. Again I don't mean anything bad towards you, I just know Matt already has this for us.
