Your new clutch kit is the correct Ford 3 finger long style pressure plate, the old one is a newer style diaphragm....

    Cool, that's good news.

I have a question what's up with this. Why would it bend like that?

When I was under the car I could freely move the clutch fork back and forth. Isn't there supposed to be some tension?

I'm used to fixing c4s. This.. is different

That looks like a release bearing for a pull cable setup. What's your fork look like?

That is the wrong throwout bearing for the Factory Fork, couple of pictures of NOS Ford throwout bearing, you see how it is attached to fork by 2 spring clips, slides onto fork and can be used with your new kit......
Also a couple of part numbers, but there are several other manufacturers and you can cross reference etc.,
where you purchased your Long Style Clutch kit, eBay etc., common bearing........

    It's a 200 block, (high starter) with a 250 head.

Poking around on Rockauto they list both 3-finger Long style pressure plates and diaphragm pressure plates for later year Mavericks. I've only seen the 3-finger type but it's possible they had diaphragms because Mustang II's had them at that time. Anywho, your type of release fork holds a bearing that looks like this:

OK, since you have 200, the part numbers I gave where for V8, I know the length of the 200 6 cyl fork was around
9 1/2" vs. 12" for V8, although the bearing may still be the same? Either way, you now have pictures of what the
    correct throwout bearing looks like!
Just go back to where you purchase your Clutch Kit and ask them for the correct bearing.....

    200-6 9" Clutch
    289/302 10 or 10 1/2" Clutch

.. yes the Fairmont 200 'application' @'78-81 Pressure plate and Diaphragm clutch disc 'Clutch Set' is usually in the online/counter catalogs. A simple upgrade for any 'Toploader' type 200 136T Bellhouse. The original style TO arm push fork TO Bearing needs to be used . As shown opreviously...
