New Demon carb installed! Help tuning...

    Just got my new carb on, and wow! did it make a difference. One quick question though, i'm having some "off-idle" hesitation. Now this is a four-corner idle carb, and i'm not sure what to do about the four corners! Since i'm not using the secondaries for idle, do i just adjust them all the way in (shutting them off)? Should they be equal to the primaries? It's a pretty much new carburetor (bought it used, but works extrememly well), so i know it's not the accelerator pump or anything. Just stumbles from a stop....

    You need to 'very carefully tune using a vacuum gauge'. You are to lean now. The tranfer to, intermediate system, has a 'hole' in it.

    Dont let the "4-corner idle" get the best of you. It's very much a simple thing. Actually, for Holley-based carbs, it's almost a blessing. In essence, it creates 2 separate carbs. Even though you think you're not idling on the secondaries, you still are because there are 2 small slots in the carb bores that allow air/fuel to flow through them. You will have to adjust the front idle mixture, then turn to the rear ones. After you get them both set, take it for a test drive. If you still have the hesitation, I would bet that the accelerator pump nozzles are a bit small, causing a lean condition as you hit the throttle hard. You can change them easily with nothing more than a screwdriver. The numbers are stamped on them, a #28 nozzle refers to the size of the holes, bigger means more fuel, smaller means less fuel.
