jilly... welcome! in my opinion, all you really need to do is make sure everything is good. like ball joints shocks, steering... stuff like that. unless you are wanting to hotrod it, i suggest that you just do the drum brake to disc brake conversion. disc brakes up front that is. a 250 has plenty of pep for a new driver. good luck and ask any and all questions. we are all here to help.

    jilly,

welcome to the board. :bananaman :bananaman
if you have points dist. you might want to put a pertronix set up in (y) . cost about $65 bucks and about 10 min. to install.
we love pics...before...during...and after. the after pic. could be after you put in a set of plugs, after you change the oil or after you wash the car. it doesn't mean after you get through with the car...frank...

I reccomend Electronic ignition and disc brake conversions in addition to replacing whatever's worn-out on the car...

Welocome to the board Jilly. I agree with what has been said above. The Pertronix can be bought at any auto parts store, & it's less than a $100.00. It's great not having to worry about points anymore. And it's a simple 15 minute install. You won't be sorry.....pictures, we love pictures....
