Came up with some new graphics for my hood. This is a photoshop job so it's not real, but I'm just crazy enough to do it, if I had the right kind of masking tape on hand .

(actually, anybody who knows me knows I'm not quite crazy enough to do it, but I was in a creative mood tonight) bull_graphix.jpg

I think that's pretty cool. Nothing wrong with stepping outside the box every now and then. Stock tends to get boring sometimes. (y)

I like it. If you're confident you can pull it off I say go for it.

I like it too. The body shop told me to start thinking about if I wanted to do anything besides all black center on my hood. I'm not sure Im as brave as you.....

If you take that image to a sign shop, they might be able to make a decal for you. It would be a lot easier than trying to paint it. Just a thought. :drive:

Yeah, that would be easy to do on vinyl. Plus if you got tired of it you could remove it.

Good idea, Streetdeacon. I've got the graphic made up already, why not? I was thinking the vinyl might get too hot over the hood, so maybe I could have them cut it out and leave the reverse, and have the masking done. bull_graphix_blue_original.jpg

Couldn't you have the vinyl stencil made where you put it on as one sheet then remove the areas that are the design. Shoot it, clear it and you got a one-off paint job.:thumbs2:

edit: we must have been typing at the same time

LOL I think we were typing at the same time. Also it would probably work for the 2 colors as well - put the whole thing down, remove one color set, paint, remove the other color & mask the stuff already painted, paint the second color.

I don't think the hood heat would be a problem. There's plenty of advertising cars that are fully wrapped in that stuff. I'd ask the shop what temp its rated to, probably higher than you think. Plus its not like the hood ever gets too hot to touch (if it does you may have more serious problems).
