Wondering how much power a 8" diff can take. I have just blown the bearing cabs off mine and wondering if anyone else has done this. I have only a moderate 306. 3200 convertor and 4.11's. I am thinking maybe I did something wrong with the install, however I have done quite a few of these and never had a problem. Any suggestions before I buck up for the 9"?

8" should be good for about 350hp. maybe a little more. a lot depends on wether you are using a stick or automatic. stick will abuse it more. welcome to the board.:)
