So I'm new to the whole maverick comunity but i have a 1976 ford maverick and I'm really wanting to convert it into a 1973 grabber, i have just 3 questions about it. I have searched and couldn't come up with anything.
    1. Is the whole process of switching from the large bumpers to the small ones difficult?
    2. Can i get these parts new anywhere?
    3. this isn't really a question but if someone is selling grabber parts I'm really interested

    Thanks for all your help

73 grabber is a unique year. it had a middle sized front bumper. bigger that the 72 and older and smaller than 74 and newer.
also it has only a stock hood with grabber stickers on it. not the dual snorkel hood that was on 71 and 72 only.
you can switch to any thing you like. just please clarify that it is the 73 that you want to switch to before we go into depth of how to do it.

That would be a resounding no to your question. Nothing you're looking for has been reproduced. Try posting in the classifieds here on the forum and you may get what you want used in good condition :tiphat:

Welcome to the board. As the others have said. You'll have to look hard for some of the parts you want. Grabber hoods are expensive as are the rear spoiler pieces. Post an ad in the parts wanted section for a start.:Welcome:

Since everyone has been so much help with those questions I have just two more, so the maverick has a 302 motor in it but it has some random automatic transmission in it that im not sure where from, might be a ford bronco, but it doesnt line up with anymounts and is being held in by a 2x4 and rope :/ i was wondering what is the original manual transmission that comes with the 1997 ford maverick? and if finding the same as the original is my only option or are there others?

Hey, nice to see a fellow Calgarian on the site. The original manual transmission in your Maverick would be a Ford 3-speed. Unless you are wanting a period correct restoration the manual 3-speed is probably not the way to go.

Check out this site for some other manual transmission options:
