    I have a 75 comet with a 302. It is a work in progress
I am looking for a new headliner to put in my car. Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket ones? I want to get one that looks as close to the original as possible. The goal is to have an "almost" original show car/daily driver. It is a 75 comet 2-dr.

The aftermarket is our only choice. It looks real except the backing is not cotton and therefore doesn't shrink as much as the original when steaming out the wrinkles. I was told the original material has been obsolete for over 20 years. Today’s replacement is made out of the same material that GM used back in the day and it was different than what Ford used.

I bought one from SMS for my green car, it was the exact same material as used from the factory. It was huge compared to what was needed, lots of extra material to use on other things. I've also bought one from Auto Krafters, I took it out of the box to look at it, but haven't installed it yet.

A word of warning! I used the auto krafters also, Just be prepared first with all of the seals, or it looks funny at the quarter windows.
