Hello everyone I just bought my first 73maverick and I already love her the only problem so far is my wife is giving me a little grief on the lap seat belt I was wondering if any one can help me on a way to convert it to a 3 point. It already has the mounts near the windows I just don't know what to use to change it back.

Take a look at seatbeltsplus.com. They have the retractable 3 points belts for about $65.00 per side. I got mine at Julianos but they were more expensive. Fairly easy install and big improvement.

Your factory shoulder belts have been cut/removed. That is all you really need to complete the existing system.

I bought my seat belts here:
    http://stores.streetrodshop.com/seat-belts/

I replaced the original "fixed" 3-point with a 3-point retractable. Using a ruler, protractor, and plumb-bob to locate a slot on the rear side moldings, and then removed them to cut. I mounted the retract mechanisms to the floor - using the the flat washer detailed in the attached PDF.
With the car level, I hung the plumb-bob from the pillar mount to get a center-line on the plastic molding. I removed the molding, and then lowered the plumb-bob to the floor, to locate the center of the retract mechanism. After centering the mechanism, and ensuring that it won't rub against the plastic molding (seat-side) or the frame, I located mounting holes.
For the slot, I outlined an appropriate width/length and then cut them out with a hot exact o-knife. I also made out of plexiglass, a couple of escutcheons. (Rectangle pieces with slot that screw into the molding to give it a professional look).

73 models were equipped with a folding shoulder harness. It is just a simple bolt on operation with the 3 point retractable.
