I've always been a big Ford/Lincoln/Mercury fan since day One. As of yet I don't have a 71-72 Comet GT (302).....one of the cars I've always wanted. I've been lurking around the Car for Sale section for at least a year!

BTW my older sister bought a new 69 1/2 Maverick wayyy back then. It was red with the cool red/orange/yellow optional interior. Other than a radio, some bright window trim, white walls and full hub caps it was pretty basic.

I have a couple of collector cars: a 71 Mark III with 67K miles, very original and a restored 69 Cougar XR-7 convertible 428CJ. If any of you guys are Cougar fans there's a good site at http://www.mercurycougar.net/

My dad bought a 67' Cougar to restore back in 97, but he never got around to it. Car had a 289, 3 speed on the floor, dark green with black leather interior and Magnum 500 wheels.

Got it for 400 bucks, body was solid as a rock. http://5hp.hill.cc/hotrod/pictures/67cougar.jpg

My dad traded the car off for a $2,000+ surplus army Miller welder that is huge. Didn't let me know till after it was gone that he would have traded me my truck for it first...

Ohh well, probably wouldn't be looking for a Maverick/Comet right now if I would have got that, so I'm actually kind of glad I didn't get it now. :)

Howdy and:Welcome: Good luck in your quest. I've always loved the older Lincolns. They are best looking luxury cars ever made. I am also a huge ragtop lover and and 67-70 Cougar fan. You have everything I want.

Tim, check my signature. Seems like enough people ask, so I just put a link there. I have pretty much narrowed my search down to 2 cars, so the other sig was no longer needed.

That's quite a car Jamie! I prefer mostly stock, but your dad did a real nice job on it.
