My new project will be a stroker 8.2 deck motor with a carb and a blow thru..I just sold my blow thru drag radial car and she went 131 in the eight at a 5.53,Not going to make that much power still want a driver friendly beast, but I bought a mpt70 to start with and building a stock motor to get the bugs out of the system before I throw the heat at it..I do alot of Eighth mile stuff..Any tips on suspension set up..front springs??Im going with the cal trac rear stuff and qa1's in the rear...Thanks Again,,Roger

    Welcome aboard, Roger.

I too have the Cal-Tracs and QA-1's setup on a 347. I have yet to make a full-blown run in mine so I can't give you a grade on that setup.

Others here used that setup too, I believe. Maybe they'll chime in when they see your post.

I'm using Moroso Drag Springs up front with 90/10 shocks.

Sounds like you're going to have a helluva ride. Good luck and keep us posted.

mustangs are wider, so some parts wont swap...

but you can get parts from 70-77 comets, 70-77 mavericks

does your 73 have front disc breaaks? if not,,. upgrade...it will help stop you when you are going that fast on the track.. i run 1/4 in mine and i have 4 wheel drums... it takes a bit to slow down... but it isnt scary yet. i only run 14.4 in mine right now...

    welcome aboard..

you can use the search option at the top of your screen to find topics.. whatever you can think of, might already have been discussed in great detail...

Drop the front end (lower it) about 1 1/2" maybe less. Drop the rear as well, just not quite as much...seems to help get the CG down a little. Then build/buy/rig some front suspension travel limiters. They'll help the car go FORWARD rather than waste energy trying to get it to pitch rotate more than needed. I just put spacers under the front shock upper mounts but the shocks didn't last long like that. Cable type limiter would be a better choice, IMO...but I was cheap. Few washers under each one proved to work just fine. Worked great running ~6.60 in the 1/8 with a 351. 28x10.5 rear slicks at 14 psi with 4.56 gears and a Powerglide. Ran the same chassis setup with a 302 and a C4 and it worked equally well. Best 60' was a 1.39, IIRC.

Just how fast are you planning on going? T70....stroker 8.2....sounds like FUN!
