I pulled my new 4 leafs out today and tomarrow I'm taking them to get 2" of lift bent into them. It only took me 20 mins to pull them back out. It's nice when things are new and not rusty :) . I'm taking them to Valley Spring and Driveshaft (New Castle PA) to get them rearched. $25 a side. Guy said it should take about 10 mins aside to bend them. Hopefully it will be back on it's wheels tomarrow. I'll take another pic of the car after the springs are installed to show the ride height differance. Russ

He's expensive. Only cost me $20 for the pair to have mine dearched, and I had to take 1 back and get it tweeked a little more.

Well it was either $50 here or $30 to ship them back to ESPO $60 for them to re-arch them then $30 shipping back.

What I don't understand is why some of you guys want your car to sit so high...

Must be the "Maverick" in some of us.
I hate crawling down to get in a car. I like taller tires, I don't like the look of "22 in" rims and rubberband tires. I'm not building a canyon curve cutter, or a lowrider. I live in PA where the roads suck and don't like grinding the bottom of my car off on potholes, speed bumps, or my driveway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it:D Russ

Plus.........back in "the day" everybody was jacking their car "up"......not lowering them. Call it "Old School" hot rodding.

I would be happy with just "level".

Thats not to bad 25 per side. It really just depends on how well they're arched really. I got my stock springs rearched and added a leaf. Put in KYB GA-2 shocks, in all 4 corners and added poly urathane in the frount shocks and control arms recently. I now love the ride my Mav has.

I've never liked my cars jacked up, even when I was young....wait a minute....I have to think about this... yea, I was young once. I dont like them scraping earth worms of the road either.

Because everyone knows that if your car is pointed downhill all the time it'll go faster!
Some folks like to go places that cars shouldn't be.
    clearance for those 15x10 slots & N-50's.
Some folks are stuck in the past
As far as my area...first name RED,last name NECKERSON!
Now if I could just find my Hi-Jackers and chrome shackles......

dang you guys have it easy

in order to get my ORIGINAL leafs rearched...with me removing them,.... $75-$100 each side depending on how much arch i need,.,..and it iwll take 3-5 days... depending on their work load...

i need to move away from this hell hole...

just because arizona is a rust free state...why does it have to be so expensive to work on a car...??

i would also like my rear of the mav to sit about 1-2 inches higher than the front...i use air shocks for it now... (i know..air shocks are bad) but i need them to keep it above level

what i want is 4 leaf springs... good rear shocks and some 15x8 rims with 245 50 15 on the back....

the front springs are weak...they were for a 302 mav and i cut out a link and i dont like how low it is in front...so i will change them out again...

without Comet now just keeping in touch
I have to go with level, I want my car fast but I want it to corner as well, Jacking up the car is great for a hole shot, but in the twisties it'll oversteer, Level or just slight higher in back is best in my opinion, If you're buliding a car for straight ahead for a 1/4 mile, then
jacked up, tractionbars, and wide stickies out back and thin tires upfront, are the way to go, but for all around performance I'd go level to slightly raised in back.

i also like the level look but will the tires i mentioned fit under a car that is set level or slightly higher?
