Hello everyone, my name is Travis and my first car is a 1972 Maverick Grabber 302 auto. My father (Anthony) bought the car for $500 out of a field close to his residence. We now have the body primered and ready for paint, the car has 70,000 miles on it and it took a little to get it running but it looks like she runs strong. We now need to put a new front end on her...along with interior. Also, we are trying to get our hands on some 15" wheels and tires that would look cool with the "Grabber Green" color. I will post pictures soon, as I have read that you guys love 'em. Hopefully I can find a good bunch of people here to help out if needed, as I (unfortunately) have no knowledge what so ever on cars and my father has none what so ever on computers...so we work together. Thanks for your kindness in advance, Travis & Anthony Flora
welcome...when you say new front end, are you talking suspension parts? or does it need a new front end
just suspension.... Not a whole new front end just suspension parts. Heh, could have been clearer there. We also need to put in carpet, a dash, and new rubber for the windows and doors...windshield also has a chip in it, but a local junkyard and a nice looking one we plan on picking up sometime this week. I'll probably take pictures tomorrow as I am giong to be working on sanding the last coat of primer and maybe begin to paint it. Oh and i forgot to mention that today we picked up a like-new grabber hood (the hood with 2 scoops..says my dad...not fiber-glass or carbon-fiber, but metal) We traded some work for it from a local and repaired his fence. Only took us 3 hours.
Welcome aboard Travis. Sounds like you're going to have a real nice car there. Looking forward to the pics!!!
Welcome to our world Travis, and good luck with the restoration. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this board who are willing to help, and are generous with their experience... you came to the right place! Good luck, and post some pics as soon as you can, we like visuals! Art
