    Hello everyone,
    I'm semi-new here. I've been here before before I owned a Maverick/Comet.
I just purchased a 72 Mercury Comet GT that Im building into a drag car.

    Anyways,
Im 21 from Conway Arkansas. I have a 4 month old son name Austin.
I love to drag race, hunt, fish, and work on motors, etc.
    Just thought I'd say hello.

Welcome back. Teach your son about the hobby. You may want to wait a few years though.

I'll get some pictures of it shortly.
It's kinda ugly at the moment... paint has faded, and it doesn't have very good looking wheels on it right now... It has two 97 Ranger wheels on the rear, and some aluminum wheels on the front (they sure look like a steel wheel tho)
    I will get pics ASAP

Plan on running or wishing to run?
As it sits... after I re-ring it, and bearings it should run low 10's in the 1000'.
Im wishing on lower 9's but Im building it to run street class with it, so 10s is fast enough........ for now

I'd also like to say I know Mavman and Old Guy in person.
They've helped me out over the years building a old truck I had.
I've enjoyed watching them race, and helping them with what little bit I do know how to do. They are a good bunch of guys and I hope to one day to be able to be 1/2 as good as these guys are.
Anyways, sorry for posting again, just wanted to say thanks to these guys and thanks to everyone else here for all the information. I've already learned quite a few things just browsing the forums.

Here's one picture of the Comet...
Looks terrible at the moment. paints needs waxed bad, and need to get some wide wheels/tires under the rear.
But just put the ranger wheels on the rear to get it home.
Havent decided what to run on the front yet

Here's the last one for now
I need to do some cleaning up on it.
Then I have to find carpet (maybe) a new hood, and decide on what wheels/tires to run.
