I actually joined the forum back in 2007 and finally after 6 years I bought a Maverick!!

I owned a couple of Comet GT's back in the late 80's-early 90's. One was a '71 that was lime green with black stripes and a 200 6 cylinder automatic and the other was a '73 that was white with red/orange stripes and a 302 and 3 speed in the floor.

My uncle bought a really nice Grabber Blue with black stripe '71 Grabber last year and that really got me looking again.

A couple of weeks ago I found a '72 Grabber that is a factory 302/C4 car. It is an unusual color combo. It is Medium Bright Yellow with light green/dark green Grabber stripes and has black bucket seats and automatic in the floor.

I have spent the past couple of weeks cleaning and detailing the car to get it into presentable shape. It has a little bit of rust at the bottom of the passenger side front fender and some dents and dings but is overall a pretty solid car!

It has a 302 roller motor with an Edelbrock Torquer intake and a Holley 600 carb. It has an aftermarket cam, but I don't know the specs. The car has long tube headers with complete 3" exhaust with H-pipe, Flowmasters and tailpipes over the axles and tucked behind the rear wheels. The car has a really nice 'hit' at idle and sounds really good!! It has an MSD billet distributor and 6AL ignition and an aluminum radiator.

The C4 has a nice shift kit and trans cooler and the 8" rear had 4.62 gears with a mini spool in it. I found another center section and swapped to a set of 3.40 gears and reused the mini spool. The 3.40's will make the car MUCH more highway friendly!

I bought a new set of Weld Rodlites in 15x4 and 15x8 (4.5 BS) and have 165/80/15 Nankang's on the front and 255/60/15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT's on the rear.

Looking forward to playing around with the car!!

Here are some pics of the car after my two weeks of work.

Cool looking car. I think 3.40s are ideal for a street driven Maverick without an overdrive transmission. Right in the sweet spot of too much and not enough.

but as i heard, the coil should be installed vertical, that the liquid can cool it properly!!

As has been said, nice colors! I am amazed that you could remember your log in and password after all this time, I forget mine monthly :D but then I am getting old.

    Thanks!!

The only reason I could remember my log-in info is because I use the same SN and password on all of the car forums that I'm a member on. So if you see z28th1s on another site that would be me!
