Hi all. I just joined this forum from Phoenix, Arizona. I am a former Maverick owner and am secretly ( don't tell my wife ! ) thinking that I want another one. I owned a 1970 Maverick (been in the family since new ) that originally came equipped with the 250 six and C-4 trans. It was a great car. I modified the six for more performance for the street and used to run it at the drag strip occasionally. It ran in the mid 16's. I eventually got the drag race bug big time and turned it into a race only car. I swapped in a modified 302 Ford engine and did alot of the "race car" stuff to it. It ran mid 12's at 107. I eventually got tired of racing but just could not let it go. It sat in my garage for about 10 years until I finally gave it up and sold it just this past January. I am including a pic.
Hey Gene Fiore, my Dad was wondering if that is B-line drag way. Off of B-line highway? It's well gone now. My Dad use to run his 1973 F-150 with a 429 SCJ. And my uncle use to run a 1972 Mustang with a 351 Windsor down there.
