Howdy Maverick family! I took some time last week to work on the Viper powered Maverick and got the seats, steering column/linkages, pedals, most of the roll cage, headers, and the radiator mount done. Just wanted to share the bit of progress with everyone, the pictures are in my member gallery. It's going to need both bumpers and rear brackets soon, can someone direct me to a source? I've found some threads about a few possibly being made available but never found the resolution. Thanks again for the support and hope to make everyone here proud of the car even without Ford power. I had a thought to make some changes and keep the exterior more stock looking than I had originally planned (I was going to go with the Shelby tail lights, grabber spoiler, etc). Instead I think it should get stock tail lights, stock hood and I'm going to see if I can find a little extra money to swap the rims to the Magnum 500's (Mustang style) I've seen on Mavericks here in the gallery. I would appreciate any input, so, if anyone has a moment to contribute please do. Best Regards, Jason
Jason, that is truly some amazing fabrication going on there! That my friend...is FIRST CLASS!!! I truly hope to see that car in person when it is finished!
WOW That is awesome! I like the wheels you have now or something like them, that car is way too protouring for stock magnums. The tail lights could go either way. JMO You are doing a phenomenal job. What color are you thinking or have you already picked out?
About the wheels, I really want to try and keep the exterior more true to the era and I made the wheel tubs bigger than I had orginally planned so I can fit even wider rear tires under there. The car will have over 650 HP so more tire = more better! Color wise, I don't know yet. I did a 70 Cougar in Grabber Blue and a 54 F100 in Glacier Blue and I think Rayzor's Grabber Blue Maverick pretty much owns that color for this model.
Man, I love that Cougar!!!!! Have I seen it somewhere before? like a magazine? As for the Maverick, it's nice to see your getting a better reception than the poor guy putting the Supra engine in his
We are making valences for the Cougars,,, Front and rear,, 1967 and 1968,,,,, Wooooo Hooooo,, Sweet Kitty cat,,,
You are doing a great job on that Maverick... We have talked about you before at the shop I work at... Pure Vision in Simi Valley. I have also heard that your Cougar is extremely nice in person, just as it looks in the pictures( I don't recall who I heard it from... maybe one of the guys from Hot Rod Magazine...) I hope to see that car someday, which should be feasable because I am just a little north of you. Where exactly are you located?
