Hi all, I am a long time Mav owner (my first car 21 years ago - 1970 Mav that I ran with a 6cyl (250 bucks), then turned into bracket racer with 351W+NOS for several years) And I now find myself with a new project. with a 1972 grabber (verified VIN) and I will be putting some cash into it over the next couple of months (about 5K), so I figured it would be fun to catch up with others to keep me motivated, and help me find parts...etc. So I am attaching some pics of the "new" mav from last summer when I took the seats out and starting digging into... The nice thing is that the motor is solid (302 mildly upgraded with intake, carb, etc). I spent some already on it about a year ago on the top half, and also put 2.5" custom bent dual exhaust all the way back (brother with a blue bullet pipe bender in shop does not hurt). Funny story like most....bought in a barn (yep) from an old ladies son. 75K original miles, I brought a box O' parts and drove up from where I live to Idaho (9 hours) and spent one weekend (rented a one way car - now thats motivation). tore off the upper half, exhaust, belts, hoses, etc...got in it and drove 9 hours home after it had sat for 5 years plus. It ran perfect, did not leak a drop. God you got to love the 302....In any case, this is the begining of my story Thanks for any comments, feedback, etc...my first item of business (amongst others is a front bumper) I will pay good money....anyone? tks....Ron R.
Howdy and Nice car. Looks pretty solid. You can get your front bumper straightened and rechromed. Companys like Tri City do an excellent job.
to the board. Nice looking find. I got my bumpers thru Restoration Chrome in Spokane, Wa...Very good people to deal with.
Thanks for the feedback....forgot to put a pic up of the part that is not quite as ugly Solid 302. Thanks, and I will post updates in the appropriate forums as things progress...
