new tranny swap?

    hey guys i jost bought a tranny for my mav. now the old trannys casing is smooth but the new one has ridges and seems to be larger. also when i pulled the old t. converter off the flywheel was on it as well unlike the new t. converter that came with my new tranny?
    what should i do???

    Hopefully PaulS will chime in & tell you waht to do. If I had to take a guess. I'd say you need a flywheel. Maybe use the one off the old tranny.
    I could be wrong. I'm not that familiar with trans...

    Tell me if you can what the two transmissions were in originally....
    It looks like the one in the picture is from a V8 and the only C4s That had the ring gear on the converter were those from the 170 and 200 six cylinder engines.
