Hi, im Roger from spartanburg,sc. I am 23 years old ive built some really sick cars for alot of people. But never a car I could really say i built for me. So About 2 years ago me and my dad went to alabama and picked up an old rusted out peice that was formaly known as a 72 comet gt. This thing had a awsome grabber blue paint job that was rittled with rust, the hood scoop was gone, windsheild busted half way out, every tire was to the point wher I didnt want to stand near it for fear that it would blow my leg apart, oh and dont forget the best part there was no floor board at all. So despite all this my dad still wants to take it home, ok its your money. Heres where it gets real exciting we get it home take it off the trailor and its sat in the same spot up until about a month ago. My dad calls and says I want to part the comet out. At the time I was searching on craigslist for me a 280z, so I told him ok ill work on getting it on the internet. Then it dawned on me wait I could put my 2jz off in the comet. So here I am on the verge of starting my biggest project and I figured id stop by and say hello. I know theres a guy that did a 2jz maverick but has any one did a comet.

Also I will be selling some stuff off of it motor, tranny, rear end, etc. So if you need anything give me a shout ill post plenty of pics as the build progresses

Welcome, that's pretty cool! I was considering one of those in an Econoline P/U once upon a time, in a garage far, far away...

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
What are the specs on the turbo man?(y) How are you gonna tune it?

On an import forum I once said it would be blasphemy if someone put another one of these in haha. But they can handle way more power than a stock 302 block can. :)

$200-400. See if anyone bites, 302s are nothing special. And the 3 speed is not that desirable.

It may be I dont have a title and I dont know much about comets. My dad just had 2 growing up. Ill find out after I move it to the shop. Any input on some stuff ill need cosmetic. Such as the 72 bumpers if that will make it look sleek. I plan to begin stripping it in a week or so. I just had my new baby boy wed. So ill spend some time with him and his momma and get to work.

My plans for those rusted out floor pans. Remove and replace with steel tubing for support and aluminum floor pans. A cage and mini tubs for the future. Its not going to going to be as streetable as I would like it to be. But if I can get out on the weekends in it and go to the track and run nines ill be happy.

Welcome to the board. Look at the vin# on the tag on the drivers side under the windshield. The first number is the year. If it starts with a 4 it is a 74, etc.:Welcome:

Thats a 67mm prescision with a ebay manifold I put that in a g35 sedan with a 2jz. Im going to use a bullseye power s372 with a ebay t4 manifold. I put a supra together with the same setup that put down 760 spinning on the dyno. That was on a stock motor. Mine will be built when its put in for the last time. I have a na 2jzgt out of a gs300 that im going to build. Right now im just worried about the body and suspension first.
