Hey guys. I just picked up a 74 Maverick- 6cylinder 200ci. Well, it was running real choppy so I rebuilt the carb. Put it back on and amazing, it was running like new! Got my plates today so I can get it down to the shop to have the leaf springs done this week, and before I took it out for the grand voyage and I decided to check the carb one more time. Had it running and all of a suddent gas come leaing out of the bottom of the carb. I took it off, maked sure everything was tight, and when I put it back on the same happened and now the car won't even start.

I'm pretty sure its not the original carb for the car and it has no tags. Any suggestions or does anyone have a carb I can buy?

Thanks guys! Not the kind of hello I planned on, but help is needed.

just out of curiosity, why won't it work? The carb off the 71 200 is actually on the 77 250 right now, car runs fine.

I just assumed it wouldn't work because they are 2 different carbs....maybe its worth a shot!

What would you like? Don't worry about shipping. I have a UPS shipping account set up for ebay, so I can have UPS pick up the item and it will be charged to my account.

I'm down in Monmouth County....Englishtown. I think your about an hour away.

Drop me a call and we can talk. If it will work I would just take a ride up there whenever your available and pick it up.

    Thanks again man!

hey scott, thanks for the welcome! I actually had to drive down to Richmond, VA to pick mine up:) Couldn't find any around here. Its a lil rough, but once I get this carb it will run very nice! I'm gonna be looking for some parts so maybe you can help me find some local ones.

I'm in Manasquan, but due to lack of driveway space here I keep the car at my parents house in Manalapan. Not too far from you. I ended up ordering a carb from Auto Zone today. Cost 100 bucks with overnight shipping. Shoulkd be here tomorrow or Friday.

Well, we def have to meet up soon! What are you driving?

I'm all for a jersey meet and greet type thing. hit up a tgif or applebees or something kind of central to everyone. I won't have the car cause I'm tearing it down again. My car came from down the road from scott and todd, they passed on it which makes me worry a little :p
