My wife took this picture today.... I pushed the Mav out of the garage and painted the floor pans after I finished my subframe connectors. The small guy is my son. He will be 3 in May. Might have to enlarge this picture and frame it. Cleaver
my sisters 4 year old likes to help with my car too like jacking it up and unbolting the spark plugs once they`re not so tight . where did you get the wheels at ?
Here is my son Colton - His middle name is Maverick. He helped me at the junk yard today pulling out those 302 Motor Mounts ... He doesn't like getting his hands dirty though!
elliot - I put an exhaust system on a guys pick-up truck and then he didn't have the money to pay me - so we worked out a "deal" on the wheels. If I remember right - they are Progressive brand steel wheels (been a few years). They have a smooth center cover that goes over the center - but I only have 3 of them - so they are on a shelf in the garage. I tried to find an extra cap but it seems the design has been discontinued. I guess they look OK while in primer. My son likes hanging out in the garage, but he is scared to death of the compressor and the DA sander. Just feaks out at the sight of the DA. I have to re-assure him before he goes in the garage that the compressor is off. Bless his heart. Cleaver Cleaver
My boy I just can't wait until my son is old enough to help me out. He is just over a year old now so I spend more time chasing him back into the car than I do working on it.
This is my son Cody when he was almost 1. Already trying to take my car to go out on a date. He will be 3 in June.
great picture thom! i'm telling you guys... start ' em off young. i remember when todd was a lil guy. i threw him under our car on a creeper and showed him under car stuff...the rest is history... he has done a great job on his 70 mav. i can only wonder what he is going to do now that he is getting a job.
I know I shouldnt say it but I cant wait until he understands more. I enjoy everyday w/ my little guys and dont want to rush it. Hey Scott betcha it seems like it was only yesterday Todd was a little guy. Im already feeling like time has just flown by well thanks for the comp. on the pics man. 74 Maverick, Thom
actually thom, the first project we did together on our first mav was new idler arm. he was 12 by then. (up until then it was "todd go get me this. hold that get the trouble light. etc.etc) as we were about to remove the old one i was telling him (i held the inside nuts while he was to loosen the bolts from inside the wheel wells) be REAL careful with the wrench . go easy or it will slip off and you'll (big THUNK!!!!!!!!!) uhhhhh never mind. he said "smash my finger dad?" yup. we were laughing our butts off as his finger swelled up, his nail turning purple. are we the only ones who thought this is funny? the wife didn't get it.
scott you are not the only one who thought that was funny. I bet your wife didn't understand because she is your wife. In my experience most women don't find it really funny when people get hurt they are all about making it better.
