The other day I try to install the mec. temp. gauges, I think, the place between carb and distributor is wright( on the intake)? but the sender unit is to tall. So I try some other places too, like this 3-way vents, same story.
Were to you connect temp gauges and is this gauges mechanical or electrical and what company products you recommend? Engine is stock.
    Thanks!

ben; I use an Autometer mechanical temp gauge, and it fits right in, on the intake, with no problems. I do have an Edelbrock Performer 289 manifold, and Holley 600 carb. The sensor that comes on the gauge works fine. Don't know why you would have a problem.

You need a fitting that will alllow the temp sensor to sit up higher. You can get a fitting at an autoparts store like NAPA.

The gauges should have came w/ all the fittings you needed.
But like mentioned, you can buy them at parts stores.

Seems like problem is in "what ever" name gauges. The price was good:). The guys who have installed Autometer, said that the Autometer temp sender is little bit shorter.
    Thanks!
