Just bought a 76 2dr Maverick with a 250 and auto. Sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't. When it didn't, I checked and was not getting a spark at the coil wire. Could the coil be going bad?? Maybe something else?? Thanks for any help

I assume since it is a 76 it still has the duraspark ignition. Sounds more like a loose wire or faulty ignition control box. If the car has been sitting for a while there could also be corrosion. Probably not a bad idea to replace the cap and rotor.

    Kansas City MO or KS?

Thanks I will check those this week. I am on the KS side, south of Olathe.
