Hello all! Doing some searching on a Maverick and ran accross this forum, seems to be pretty nice! I'm currently looking into buying a Mav. and have an appointment to go look at a 72 or 73 Grabber Maverick this week. I'm way stoked about it and hope to get 'er bought and start the process of making her mine. Just stopping in to say hello! Dustin
Welcome aboard Dustin. Good luck on getting the car and be sure to post pics of it as soon as you get er home. We're excited for ya too!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. Yes "stoked" just being another slang term for excited. I guess I forgot to mention this won't be my first hot rod or Ford by a long shot. My last two recent (one being current) toys was an 85 Mustang GT I sold last summer. She sang to the tune of a 10.89 on the coast @ 113 mph with the help of a little white jug. Currently I own a 1993 Lightning that I'm in the midst of putting a stand alone engine managment on, along with a box upper intake cam and the works, keeping the short block stock. Being 24 years old next week I guess I'm the strange younger guy as I'm more familiar with a carb than EFI, so it's back to somthing like a Maverick which I've always wanted to build. I can't wait to see this car, and hope it is as described to me! Here are a few pics of the Lightning. It's cleaned up under the hood a lot and I've since painted the CAI but you get the jist. My last Mustang
Glad to see some younger guys gettin into mavericks/comets. They have a ton of potential as I have seen from this site and meeting up with fellow maverickers. If the one you look at isn't what you are looking for, keep checking Ebay and the classifieds on this site for a a good deal. Whatever you do GET one and be hooked for life. Keep on mavericking!!!!
