Well, correction. Stupid People irritate me. Washing my car this morning when i found quite the ding in my door, not sure when it happened, who did it, or how they managed to do it. However it is extremely irritating that someone could put a ding like that in a car like mine and not even leave a note or a number or something.:cussing:

Not the worst looking of dings, but definitely enough to grind my gears.

Probably afraid the repair cost on a "classic" car would get him kicked off his insurance.

Lol, I'd rather get kicked off insurance than me find the person that did it. Not sure what they did. If it was opening a door, i would guess it would've hit the upper half of my door as it sticks out a 1/4 inch or so farther than where the ding is. Unless someone backed their hitch into my car. I'd drive old beaters for sure, except the mav is my only car and is my daily driver (unless i con the mom out of her car for a store run) but personally...i prefer my car with it's manual steering over power steering any day, much better feel for the road.

Welcome to owning a old car 90% of people see them as used up garbage no matter how nice they are. Everytime I drive my car I notice a new spot or ding that wasn't there its sickning but nothing you can do about it really.if you retaliate against them the bad karma just ends up back on you. I can't count the times I've been upset over a door ding as an example not to long ago I actually beat a door concave on a truck that parked so close literlly 6" away and I couldn't get my little girl in her car seat. A few days later I was having to buy a transmission. That my friend is karma... not worth it. Jmho

Now would be the time to look into a agreed value or extended coverage plan for your car to help cover future damage or loss. It won't protect you from the idiots but will help cover the cost.

In my opinion something hit the door like a rock or something. That is not a typical door ding from a parking lot. It looks to perfectly round..ish and looks like you can see the impact mark in the middle. Plus where it is, if it were a door ding from a parking lot it would have happened higher up on the door where the body line is. Hard to tell from those pictures, but that's what I think anyway.

If you are going to drive these cars as "daily drivers"...you are going to have "daily driver" issues.

I used several back in college. Delivered pizza's in them...and drove them to school. Hit curbs, hit a tree, etc. today I drive a Ford Focus Station Wagon. Lots of door dings, chips, hit potholes, etc. Just a day in the life of a "daily driver".
