Well the Maverick is going away for the winter. Left her covered up at the body shop tonite. Supposed to rain all nite. Took some pics before she went. Thinking about a color change while I am at it. I like the red, but its a little too common for me. Pics

actually that hood is probably junk. I think the front lip is all bondo. I am looking strongly at a fiberglass one.

Get your body guy to fix it, cut the parts needed of a flat hood.

You could fix it but by the time you invest all those hours at shop rate your not far from a carbon fibre hood.

Thats what the guy at the shop told me. He could fix it, but I would be close to price of an after market.

Do you paint a CF hood? Or do you leave them black? I think a black hood would look weird.

You can paint them thats not a problem. Huge weight savings over steel. Even if you invested in a good steel Grabber hood it still has to be stripped and prepped for paint. Carbon fibre are ready to go.
The glass hoods(most of them) usually need quite a bit of work to get them to look good. I wouldnt suggest fiber glass as an option. You likely wont be very happy when you receive it.
Jimmy2gates is doing glass re-pops of his cowl grabber hood. Might be an option if you like the look. Quality should be better than the other glass hoods.

I have seen pictures on the forum of someone with the cf hood that painted the hood and left the center part black cf. Either way I think they look great.

SInce you're in Ohio...I'd look into a Crites fg hood. You'll never have to worry about rust again.

Over the years I've bought 4 or 5 Crites hoods for various Fords. The only one I had trouble with was a Fairlane hood that was warped. They sent me another free of charge.
