The mav is gone but i'm still here!
I used some for my fury last year to get a wider tire in there, on my mav i will be routing the Exhaust pipes between the springs and the body and it would help alot if i could move the springs in an inch or 1 1/2.I used a 2" on the fury but i think that would be too much for the mav because of the large 76 tank.Anyways do they make these for fords?Or can i swap in a mopar shackle?

Don't see how it can be done since the rear has to align with the front ... and the front won't move from the factory location as far as i can see without major fabrication.

I mocked up a system using's 2" pipe and it looks like it wont hit anything, so no need to move them anymore :whew:

I have never seen offset shackles, but it seems to me something like that would not only throw off the location of of the spring perches on the rearend, but would cause strange things to happen when you go over bumps and stuff since they would be trying to pull out away from each other as they compress...

I never heard of them either. Something like that would put a load on a spring in ways it was not designed for.

I`ve seen people offset the front and rear mount to the inside - side of the frame rails, but it takes some fabrication and special mounts . The fuel tank width could also be a problem unless you use a smaller tank or fuel cell.

As for offsetting the rear shackle only -? No way that`s gonna work - you would be putting the spring in a bind so it couldn`t function properly.

They guy that did my mini tube made part of the rear frame inward with new mounting for the leafs. Its hard to undersatnd it but I have not had any problems so far. The shackle he said would not work. Detriot Speed makes them for CH$%YS but not for Fords. I have also heard that someone makes them for Mopars. Anyway if you build a new frame for the backhalf of the car than you can get the leafs over maybe 1.5 inches but the gas tank will be in the way. I just put a race cell in my trunk to take care of that problem. I think I have about 14 or 15 inches of wheel well now.

Offset hangers and spring relocation is quite popular on A, B and E body Mopars. The parts are available directly though Mopar Performance Parts. The front spring hangers on their cars bolt in. The offset hangers will move the spring in 3/4 inch, while the spring relocation kit move the springs in 3 inch per side and then you need to mini-tub the car.

I always thought camaro tail pipes looked stupid the way they have all those bends on the end to make them come straight out the back.
