good luck. i went to the track yesterday for the first team race. i'm 10 points ahead of where i was last year, because last year i missed the first race. changed the tranny and convertor and didn't fix the problem. i dropped almost 2 seconds and can't get off the line. feels like i'm in second gear. tried to make up for the doggedness and red lit. oh well, it's fun just to be at the track anyway.
My motor won't be ready Mike...too bad, I'd like to run that 5.7 class, LCD opens Feb 16 and the car should be ready.
i'm apart right now also guys. new roller cam/springs/parker intake. hope to git a few passes before the 4th.good luck to all racers on the upcoming season. let's hammer em!!! MAVERICK STYLE!!!!
Nice Picture on the flyer. I went to the Summit Series race in Fontana this weekend. I had to be in the Pro class, which is tough for a novice like me but I ended up finally winning a round.:bananaman Had a 0.004 light and went 11.606 on 11.61 dial in. The other guy was good, he had a .032 light and broke out by only a little more than me. In second round I had a .054 light but spun at the line and lost. Time to get rid of those BFG Drag radials and move up to some slicks.
i try not to mess with mr. double oh!it's great during time trials but it can cause a redlight in eliminations due to the hype(i start getting ninga fast) i try and go for .010 to .015. good luck erick
Maverick9611: So are you ready for the race coming up? Good Luck! Hey, I checked out your website and the new updates are cool. Also, off topic but what size front tires and rims are you running?
i'm headed to sir in tucson this weekend. t&t on saturday and summit series race on sunday. still trying to chase the gremlin in my car. replaced tranny and torque convertor:no change. checked timing, okay. i've taken the carb apart and cleaned everything out. also taking another carb, new plugs and wires to try on saturday.
good luck don. that's my bad habit is i'm always changing something that it turn affects something else. i'm going thurs for t/t hope it works out. hammer them!!!
dropped my car off at the track today. hope i got it fixed. we'll see on saturday at T&T. we haven't had rain in about 109 days. supposed to be 82 at the track saturday.
Good luck guys. I'm going to T&T Friday night, then plan on going to Vegas on Feb 17-19 for PSCA... as long as my wife doesn't have the baby before then. She's not due till March 20 so we should be fine. Worst case scenario, the baby is born in Vegas.
well, made a run on saturday. went 13.74. not much changed. i changed out the msd-6al for another msd-6 i had. car sounded better. i took it to the end of the return road and got on it. after changing tranny and convertor and reworking the carb i finally found the problem. msd. i went up to the staging lanes and all of a sudden the car started making a noise. i idled back to the pits. we pulled the valve cover off and found a broken rocker arm stud and a broken lifter. wanted to put the car in the trailer and fix it when i got home but got talked into running to the store and getting a new lifter. we had rocker arm studs, gaskets and poly locks at the track. pulled everything apart and got finished about 6:45 pm. went back today for the team race. made it all the way to the finals where i lost to an .009 light and i didn't run the number. in the semis i ran a really nice plymouth that dialed 12.30. he ran a 12.301. he had a .046 light to my .034. he got me by .010 on the et but i got him by .012 rt. i won by .002. close race.
It seems to me the more obsticles I overcome the better a race day I have. Congrats Don! ____________________________Rocky
