My daughter's 73 is getting a transmission this month, and then she'll be back on the road. Heard through the grapevine at church an older couple had a Mav, possibly for sale (also have a 15yo son). Asked them about it, and it's available. Going to look at it tomorrow. He said its a 72 2dr, 6cyl, he moved the shifter to the floor, motors in good shape, clutch redone, total front suspension re-done. Theres a short that drains the battery, he thinks it's the ignition. He said he'd hold on to it for us, since we already have one (the tranny comes first) All this, and it's been in his shop, not out in the weather. He also mentioned he sold the 66 'stang, and he's decided to keep only his dad's early 60's Futura. Crazy, I didn't even know any of this!! Rhonda
my son is excited, too. He just turned 15, and doesn't even have his permit. He's only allowed to drive the truck around the property so far. Can't wait til tomorrow Rhonda
went to look at the car. It's a '72, 200 manual trans. He moved the stick to the floor. Replaced the entire front suspension. It started right up, runs quiet and smooth. Has some minor damage on the passenger rear quarter panel. Makes the trunk not seal correctly, nothing major, though. All chrome is there, along with all emblems, etc. The grill has a couple of minor cracks, but it's all there. Blue in and out. He said he'd just hold it for us, and not advertise it. Said he really wanted to "find it a home" not sell it, anyway. Now, to get the transmission in my daughter's car, so we can pay for this one. Yeah!
