still kicking my butt for selling 77 comet,,so after 4 years,,found another toy,,73 mercury comet, 29ooo original miles 302 2 dr with air, bought from original family ,,the family started high but ended up taking home for 6500 ,they had a lot of sentimental attachment to it,, nice condition,,but have plans for it,,small bumper convert, rebuilt engine with little more hp, have floor shifter assy everything since scrapping old gt ( its gone now) racing mirrors and hood scoop, have 72 lower dash with air for it, consolette, I even have original slots to put on it,,im going to do its tasteful ,,I have to admit I enjoy working on comets and driving them as everyone remembers them, started stripping the engine already so the project begins,,
That's a very nice car! Does that car have the medium size bumper? Interior is really nice -- good luck w/ the project!
okay yup it is a mid size bumper,,i just did a check list ,,looks like I have too many parts of some stuff ,,two used valances , two stone guards,,two maverick small front bumpers, 3 rear small bumper plus quarter panel end pieces ,,3 so far,, , and some other stuff so when I get everything done ill be getting rid of some extra stuff,,pulled engine head off and oil pan,,yup never been rebuilt,,i just made it back into the house for xmas dinner,,now I cant fit under the car,,im full,,,merry xmas everyone!! oh the shag carpet is got to go,,too 70's even for me
Very clean car there. I like that interior pattern, agree that the carpet needs to go. I like 73s with a light front bumper tuck, so don't rule that out. Out back you would just need 70-72 bumper mounts and the small filler pieces between the cap and bumper. Nice purchase!
from New Brunswick! That's one clean car! Be sure to start a Project Thread to track your progress of your build!
