What if you want the airplane dashboard look? Every conceivable instrument would be needed, even an altimeter and a tilt meter. The combo gauge from the 280Z is really neat.
I built a custom console for the prelude I had, it had an airplane type dash I fabricated, gauges, lights and everything...I was going for the "stealth" look, the car was flat black and had silver "rivets" painted along all body lines. I had a LED light for every light on the exterior, in addition to anything that was on(wipers, lights, high beams, radio, etc...), it was wired so if one of the lights went out on the exterior the light would go out on the dash...it was a fun little experiment, very time consuming and costly though.
Hey hey now no steeling ideas here... i already started in that touch screen monitor/tv, working on a car-puter, push button start crap load of toggles and like six other goodies.
well as far as onboard computer, a small screen and power inverter is all i would need for a gaming/movie computer..... got enough old junky p-4 laying around to put together a cray......hmmmmmm, you may be onto something.....
Just wire the bulb from the side that breaks the current when it blows, when the bulb is good its a closed circuit, once the light blows its an open circuit, just figure out which wire is hot when the brakes or such is on and connect the light to the opposite connection. I havent fully tested every light to see if this was true because the car was on the road for about 3 months before the alternator went out...and Im too lazy to fix it...lol...it seems everytime I fix something something else breaks.
