I can't believe how bat-s**t crazy prices get on parts that fall into the latest automotive fad/rage/movement.

When I found my Gasser project, I was thrilled.....back to old-school, no-frills build-it-in-your-garage budget racing

But Gassers and nostalgia racing has become all the rage, and suddenly, those old basic slot mags you could buy for $10-$50 are going for $750-$1,000 a-pair......old, funny looking air cleaners, valve covers, ANYTHING from the heyday of drag racing 60's is suddenly worth their weight in gold, and not the metal-flake kind.

.....for example, your basic old B&M automatic shifter.....cool simplicity and function from the early days of automatic trans tech,.....a couple of years ago, you could buy these used all day for $20-$75,......

FIFTEEN HUNDRED BUCKS for a SHIFTER????

I hope buyers don't fall for this, and prices start coming back down.

There's good signs,.....one guy has been listing a set of 15X4 slot mags with rotted, unusable bias-ply tires on ebay over and over and over again for $1,000.......not a bite in all that time, but he hasn't come down a dime on his price.

Guess there isn't a sucker born every minute.....or if there is, they're not building Gassers!
