Should be here some time this week. I'm as giddy as a school girl!

Got the front end all chopped up and wire wheeled in anticipation.

Everyone says the guys at R&C are good to work with and they are absolutely right. Very patient, knowledgable and good natured.

I was going to make my own motor mounts until he tipped me off that it might make it difficult to mount the rack later if I didn't get them in the right place. So, my cross member will be welded in, for a manual rack, with 4.6L mounts, and set up for coil-overs.

I'll have pics as soon as it comes in.

How did you measure where to install it?

Man its about time. I bet you are excited! it will sure make fitting that dohc 4.6 alot easier. Im finishing up the firewall on mine. I grafted in a 97 Mustang Cobra firewall so everything like the pedals and a/c unit and all that bolt right up. Better take some pics

Super excited! Your project sounds pretty cool! I'm just going to smooth out the firewall. The only holes will be for the heater, and I'm going to try to hide those as best as I can.

Here are some pics. Like I said before, these people are just amazing to work with. It was less than a week between ordering the part and them getting it to my house. The instructions that came with the crossmember are very detailed, and the quality of the work is just outstanding.

I should be able to start installing it this saturday. This morning we got a bunch of snow, so playing outside with my boy is number one priority for the next couple of days! :)

I've already got plans to modify the engine frame mounts. I don't like the standard 4.6 engine mounts. They rely way too much on the rubber to hold the engine in the car. I'm going to modify some chevy clam shell mounts to use instead. Shouldn't be a real big deal. A couple extra holes here and there. Maybe some welding and viola!

I don't think the Mark VIII mounts that came with the engine will work anyway.

Did you buy the whole thing (a-arms, rack, spindles, etc.) or just the cross member?

I have mine installed now as well. They make a great product! I am amazed at how much the crossmember and engine mounts are for your engine.

    Good luck.

The quality on that is amazing. I wouldn't even want to paint it and hide it under the engine, the welds are just too nice.
