in with the new...a tropical storm blew in this weekend so I had time to install the new center section...I set it up myself...4.86 Richmond XP ring and pinion, daytona support and quartermaster billet yoke. Backlash is set a little tighter at 6/1000ths because of the T-brake. This may not amount to diddly squat in ET but I swear that "N" case weighs twice as much as the aluminum
Whew! When I first read the title of this thread, I thought you were going to announe that you were retiring as driver of Plum Crazy and was going to crew chief for the daughter.
You're going to have start adding an asterisk to your 60' times (*Rear Wheels). Good luck with the new gear and let us know how it works out, please.
What is the expected ring gear life with all the light weight components? I have heard....that the AL center sections usually reduce ring & pinion life by 25-50% but that is what I've HEARD. Never tried one myself...still running a stock case and street gears knock on wood.
I have often wonder that myself.....but what is the "normal" life expectancy of one just make me wonder
